FAQs
What is hypnobirthing?
Hypnobirthing is a philosophy and childbirth education method that aims to prepare families for a positive birthing experience.
We want parents to approach labour & birth without fear, and prepared (body & mind). It combines self hypnosis with other practical tools like breathing techniques, massage, acupressure, vocalisation, visualisation and movement
Will I have a pain free birth?
There are some birthing people who would describe their birth experience as “pain-free” but this is not the norm.
However, many hypnobirthers attribute the techniques they learn in this course to feeling more relaxed, and more in control. They are able to relax, release endorphins and work with their bodies. In this way, we see women feeling less fearful (which we know can increase pain!), and empowered to birth.
Who would benefit from a pelvic balancing consultation?
-Women experiencing pain in the pelvis or low back
-Women with a breech or transverse baby on board
-Women with a persistent posterior baby or history of a posterior baby in previous pregnancy & birth
-Women scheduled for an External Cephalic Version (ECV) to turn your baby into a head down position
-Women who had a difficult or traumatic first birth, particularly involving vacuum, forceps or emergency caesarean section
-Women who are 39-40+ weeks, with a baby that has not engaged in the pelvis
-Women who want to optimise their pelvis for a smoother labour & birth!
Why Hypnobirthing Australia™?
Hypnobirthing Australia™ has the number one hypnobirthing program in Australia!
We teach the physiology behind pregnancy, labour & birth, and how best to prepare for a natural birth. You will have access to evidence-based resources to help inform you decision-making about your care. We show you how to incorporate self hypnosis, deep relaxation and other techniques into your pregnancy, birth and postnatal time.
We have seen amazing outcomes from Hypnobirthing Australia™’s programs! In one study it has been shown to decrease rates of instrumental births and non-elective caesareans. Parents leave this course feeling excited, prepared and empowered.
I teach this program because I believe in it. I want you to have a positive birth.
When should I start a course?
I usually suggest booking in from 20-34 weeks. Try not to leave it to the last minute as the techniques you learn are best with more time to practice!
If you are late in your pregnancy and still wanting to book in for a class, please contact me ASAP. Don’t worry, you can still benefit!
